Garden of England feature in Funeral Service Journal

Garden of England feature in Funeral Service Journal

10 July 2026

We are delighted to share that Nina Leonelli, General Manager of our Garden of England Crematorium, has been featured in the latest edition of Funeral Service Journal.

In her article, From Little Acorns Grow, Nina discusses the importance of embedding sustainability into everyday operations within the crematorium sector. Her philosophy is simple: meaningful environmental change doesn't always come from large scale initiatives it often starts with small, practical improvements that build momentum over time.

Since joining the Garden of England Crematorium, Nina has led a range of initiatives aimed at enhancing biodiversity, improving soil health, reducing waste and encouraging more sustainable choices for families. These include introducing environmentally beneficial soil treatments, expanding wildlife habitats, increasing composting and recycling efforts, and working with suppliers to develop more sustainable memorial options.

These projects reflect The London Cremation Company's wider commitment to environmental responsibility across all of our crematoria. We believe that providing exceptional care for families also means caring for the landscapes entrusted to us for future generations.

We are incredibly proud of Nina's passion, dedication and leadership, and we're pleased to see her work recognised within the funeral profession.
